The BRM Development Inc. Story

BRM Development, Inc., was founded by third-generation real estate owner/operator Lewis Barbanel who began working in 1988 for Howal Management, established by his father, Herbert Barbanel, a longtime NYC property developer and owner.

Herbert developed a series of properties across the city in addition to managing an acquired portfolio. Lewis founded BRM Development, Inc. (previously Barberry Rose Management Co. Inc.) in 1994.

Herbert’s father-in-law, Lewis Steinfeld, a City College and Fordham Law School graduate, was a property developer in the Bronx and Freeport in the 1940s and 1950s.
